It was my last day in Pine Plains, New York, today. Driving out of town, I saw this "restoration in progress" sign. Honest! I had to stop the car and go back to snap the photo.
I liked this little town in upstate New York. Pine Plains is still a "real" town, with a handful of good shops and a feeling that simple things still matter.

In the 70's I spent the summers in Pine Plains. My aunt has a 2nd home there. The last time I was there was several years ago. (I live in southern Ca now) It was the same quaint, cozy village I remember....Lake road goes to the lake...the church is on Church road...etc. Pine Plains always brings back the best memories. I'm glad others enjoy the beauty of Pine Plains.
